Several districts of Kyiv were struck by Russian missile attacks on Saturday, injuring at least eight people and triggering multiple fires, according to Ukrainian local authorities.
“Explosions in the capital. The city is under ballistic attack. Please take shelter,” Kyiv Mayor Vitali Klitschko wrote on Telegram, confirming that eight people were wounded, three of whom were hospitalized.
Large fires broke out in the Desnianskyi and Darnytskyi districts, although no residential buildings were hit, Klitschko added.
“The air defense is active in the capital. The enemy is attacking the city with missiles,” stated Kyiv’s military administration chief, Timur Tkachenko.
Tkachenko described scenes of shattered windows, damaged cars, and a large crater in the courtyard of a residential building in the Dniprovskyi district.
